Comparison Shoot Out - A Fractions Game

By: www.fuelthebrain.com

There’s a penalty shoot-out in the big soccer match, but it’ll take a maths wiz to beat this goalkeeper!

In this game of comparing numbers, you need to decide if the first number is smaller, greater or equal to the second. Click on the symbol for your chosen answer, <, > or = and you will take your shot. If you are incorrect, the goalkeeper will block your shot. If you get it right, the ball will sail past him into the net.

There are three levels – the lowest comparing whole numbers, while the highest comparing fractions up to hundredths. This gives this game a range of third to fifth graders. No addition or subtraction is required, simply recognising the difference between two numbers. The game also introduces the symbols for less than or greater than, which may be new to some kids.

The more shots that hit the back of the net, the higher your score, so see if you can become the deadliest sharpshooter on the pitch!
