Windmill Opreations - Choose Level 7

By: www.mathnook.com

Don’t let yourself get into a spin over math!

This puzzle game sets a windmill spinning around, its sails filled with answers to a series of questions that appear, one at a time, at its center.

This is one of a series of puzzles – this is level 7 – that progressively challenge you to master different areas of math. Order of operations is your challenge here, working out which parts of a question to answer first in order to get the right answer.

You should solve parts of the sum in brackets first, then squares or roots, before multiplication and division, and finally addition and subtraction.

Some of the questions here include having to deal with negative numbers and even fractions, making this suitable for sixth graders.

However, other parts of the Mathsspin site include basic addition for children as young as kindergarten, so find your range and then pick out the right answers from the whirling numbers!
