# Rotational Symmetry Game

By: www.flashymaths.co.uk

This demonstration of rotational symmetry shows how different shapes work in terms of symmetry.

Rotational symmetry is where shapes look the same after a certain rotation. Turn the shape to see how many times it matches and that is the order of symmetry the shape possesses.

In this activity, you can try to guess the order of symmetry – and then click the grey box to reveal the answer to see if you were correct. It is most useful for children in early elementary grades.

A number of different shapes are included in the activity, and a short animation will show the shape rotating to make clear the number of orders of symmetry it has.

Watch the animations to understand the way rotational symmetry works.
