Subtraction With Regrouping Questions

By: www.mathopolis.com

Regrouping – borrowing from the next column of figures – can be a tricky skill to master in learning subtraction.

But this interactive activity is here to help you!

You will be asked a series of subtraction questions – each of which requires you to borrow from a higher figure to solve the sum. When you answer – whether you got the right answer or the wrong one, you will be shown how the figure is worked out.

The questions – of up to four-digit sums - and the need to regroup figures makes this a good test of a second to fourth grader’s skills. A help button is available too, to talk you through how to work out the sum before you give your answer.

Keeping a pen and paper handy might help you work it out!
